Obituary of Daniel Joseph Christie
Daniel Joseph Christie (76) passed away on October 14, 2022 in Marietta, Georgia with family and loved ones by his side. Son of Joseph and Eileen Christie, who precede him in death, and faithful brother to Deborah (Christie) and brother-in-law Vito Minervini, Dan was a loving and unwavering father to son Ryan (daughter-in-law Marcia Little) and his beloved daughter Juliette. Revered uncle to Sandra (Minervini) and James Teehan and Danielle Minervini; great uncle to Matthew and Christie Teehan; and adored grandfather of Abigail, William, and Liam, Dan is celebrated by his many close, lifelong friends and loved ones, including his partner of many years Elizabeth Heller and her family.
Dan was born in Williston Park, New York; graduating from Regis High School in New York City and Le Moyne College in Syracuse, NY with degrees in Classical Languages and Philosophy; and built several successful businesses with determination and grit. All who knew him admired his fun-loving and generous spirit. Dan loved music, dancing, and singing; brought life to every party he graced; and shined his bright light each day on all who crossed his path. Dan lived life to its fullest, and all who were fortunate enough to know and love him hold him in highest regard with utmost respect and will miss him terribly. Dan was truly one of a kind, larger than life, and will live on forever in our hearts.
Visitation will be held Friday, October 21, 2022 from 5-8 pm at Weigand Brothers’ chapel located at 49 Hillside Avenue, Williston Park, NY 11596. Memorial service follows on Saturday morning, October 22, 2022 at the Cemetery of the Holy Rood located at 111 Old Country Road, Westbury, NY 11590.
In lieu of flowers, Dan requested that friends and loved ones donate to their charity of choice, should they be so inclined. Two of Dan’s favorite charities to which he contributed often are: 1) Tunnels To Towers, and 2) Wounded Warrior Project ®.
