I will always remember my "Auntie" Edel as a wonderful, kind and beautiful woman.
She welcomed us to stay in her home. I`ll never forget the days she took me to the beach and for a ride on her Pepperidge truck.

We have such fond memories over the years of a wonderful person who had a “life well lived.” Trudy touched so many lives with her kindness, special caring and of course she loved entertaining. Her spirit, energy and laughter brought joy to all. “Those who we have loved and lost are no longer where they were, now they are with us always in our hearts”. She will be dearly missed.
Love, Pat and Walter

Mutti: You will be missed and loved by many. Whenever you were at the Roslyn Country Club, the day was always much better. I remember the Sauerbroten you made for us. You have the best character for a person, and that is so true!!!

To our dear neighbors for many decades, we truly mourn the loss of Trudy. She was an iconic woman, way ahead of her time. I always remember her in the kitchen cooking delicious homemade desserts and juicing before it became a known healthy habit. It wouldn’t be the summer without seeing Trudy doing a beautiful breaststroke in the Mineola pool, driving her white Volkswagen about town. Her dedicated daughter, Linda, whose unwavering dedication to Trudy in her later years gave Trudy the grace and dignity that she always carried every day. We will all miss you!
Rest in peace with Christ,
John, Linda & Peter Dolan - Lambeau too

Trudy was truly one of the finest people I have ever known. While welcoming us to the block 48 years ago, she remarked how happy she was someone had "bought and brought back to life" the little house on the corner. Our families became fast friends. Jason and Debra growing up together, getting into mischief as they sometimes did to Trudy's chagrin. I remember the block parties, and the wonderful creations she would prepare. She always had a kind word, or words of encouragement for everyone.I remember her infectious smile and her scurrying around accomplishing her daily chores. She had an extraordinary work ethic. She conquered driving the Pepperidge Farm Truck, backing it into the driveway being her biggest challenge, but she conquered that too. Henry was proud! There is a sadness in the Collura house and a tear in our eyes now, knowing we have lost a wonderful friend and neighbor. Trudy will live on in our hearts, and we will always have the wonderful memories and remember the good times we shared. She has left behind a remarkable legacy for her beloved family to cherish. Rest peacefully, our friend, for you have enriched the lives of everyone who knew and loved you. The Collura Family

Mutti you will be truly missed. My mom was a unique, independent, talented, strong woman. She taught me at a young age the gift of cooking a gourmet meal. To use as a labor of love to the people you care for. She was also an excellent Baker. I did not have her talent in baking. She was an avid swimmer. That could swim endless laps in the pool. As if she was a Mermaid in a past life, Mutti loved wearing hats of ever color and shape and had quite the collection. She loved entertaining and spoiling friends and family with parties. She raised us to be humble and kind. She loved writing letters and cards to friends and family all over the world. She loved to travel and learning about different cultures. She always saw the good in everyone. She lived her life to the fullest. Anyone fortunate enough to have met her felt her joy and kindness. She was always smiling and laughing. Loved telling stories. This world was a better place graced by her memories. I am sure she is enjoying her past family and friends at this time. Will always be remembered and live on in all of our hearts forever. Love you with all my heart, Lisa

May peace be with Linda, Lisa and Jason as “Mutti” is now swimming in an infinity pool with breathtaking views and wonderful memories of her life and family. I told Wolfgang to make sure he is with Henry as they welcome her into heaven and eternal life.

Truly was and will.always be one of my most favorite people. Growing up 2 houses down, we would be visiting with her children often throughout the years. I can still remember countless summer days at the Mineola pool watching Trudy swimming what seemed like endless laps in the pool, a testament to her seemingly boundless energy. She alway was and will always be a special person in our family life. James Modico

Oma was not only my grandmother, but also like a mother to me. The purity of her heart and the gracious way she lived her, helped shape me into the person I am. I owe her my life, and will always carry that respect for her. I am grateful for the countless memories and love we shared, which will always be with me.
She was a woman of incredible strength. Apparent in her passion to swim and anything physical she did. Was one of the greatest chefs, and many a person had the pleasure to learn that for themselves, as she had a thirst for socializing and was eager to offer hospitality.
That also lent itself to her travels around the world. She got to see and experience so many things and so many places. Anyone that ever met her, and that is no small number, knew the quality of her character and energy.
It pains me that she is no longer living among us, but she will live on in the hearts of many, most of all mine.
So although it hurts to say goodbye in this way, she will never really be gone. And all the beautiful things that she was part of; go on, with a piece of her.

Linda I was so sorry to hear about your mom's passing. At least now she is in peace and no longer constrained by an uncooperative body. She is "free at last", May all your joyous memories get you through this sad time
