John and I spent the last few years talking and sharing experiences. He set a very high bar as to how he thought the world should work; he was very principled and had a keen sense of fair play. He could see through the hypocrisy of others. Even so, he remained optimistic and sought the best for himself and others. He loved his daughters, he loved Christine, and his brother Robert. And he was a good friend to others.

John and I first met when we became office mates at the SEC. We enjoyed many rounds of golf and sporting events during a friendship that spanned several decades. He was a talented lawyer, athlete and, most of all, a VERY proud father. His sense of humor, intellect and competitive nature made him very special. God speed JB...

I worked with John at Shearson many years ago. He was a good lawyer, and more importantly a great father and family man with solid values and principles. He will be missed.

I WANT TO EXPRESS MY SINCEREST CONDOLENCE TO THE BEVILACQUA FAMILY. JOHN WAS AN OLD FRIEND FROM MY FRANKLIN K. LANE, HIGH SCHOOL DAYS. ONE OF THE SWEETEST AND KINDEST PEOPLE I KNEW IN THAT PERIOD. THOUGH I WAS A RECENT TRANSFERRED STUDENT FROM EAST NEW YORK VOCATIONAL AT THE TIME, 1977 OR 78, THAT CREW OF GUYS WERE ALL VERY COOL AND DOWN TO EARTH AND ACCEPTED ME INTO THEIR SMALL CREW. MY CONDOLENCES ONCE AGAIN TO THE FAMILY AND FRIENDS OF MR. JOHN BEVILACQUA. GONE TOO SOON. RIP BROTHER. YOU'RE MISSED.

John was the best "little" brother anyone could have ever asked for. I looked up to him in so many ways and was so proud of all his accomplishments on the field and in the classroom, as a father and a very successful attorney and a real friend to so many. He was a real mensch as our nanny would say, He was my best friend and the family historian.
He was a wonderful uncle and confidante to my sons Andrew and Matthew.
John had a thirst for life and enjoyed everything he did (sports, music, reading, movies, travel) His mind was sharp and he had a great sense of humor. John fought valiantly without complaint and he did a lot of living in his last years, with his wonderful daughters Lisa and Kristin, and his partner, Christine, and with me and my sons. Mommy, Daddy, Grandpa Tony and Grandma Rose and Grandpa Frank and Nanny (Bobbie) will be there to greet you.
I feel like a large part of me is missing. My memories of you will last forever.
Rest in Eternal Peace my dear beloved brother.
Love,
Robbie or Chief as you'd sometimes call me.

I went to HS with John and would see him over the years at our HS reunions. We both became lawyers so we had that in common. I remember having lunch with him once when my work brought me to Manhattan and I met him at the offices of Merril Lynch. So shocked and sad to hear of his passing. Can’t believe he’s gone. My condolences to his family.

My sincere condolences to the Bevilaqua family. I remember John from high school. He was a very nice guy and I enjoyed reconnecting with him at reunions and then again via fb. Rest is peace, John and May the perpetual light shine upon you.

My sincere condolences on the death of John, though to me he will forever be ‘Bev’. We met in High School and were both members of Model Congress. He became one of my best male friends. We stayed in touch after high school the old fashion way, writing letters and then as time progressed to phone calls and texting.
To Lisa and Kristen know that your dad loved you both so much. He also spoke and wrote about how proud he was that you were his daughters. You both brought joy to every fiber of his being.
May his memory be forever a blessing.
