Truly a sweet gracious lady who has gained her Angel wings. Ben and I have been so very fortunate to have experienced such an awesome friendship, and so very honored to be part of the Matthew 8. Words cannot express the sadness in our hearts.

My memory of Carol is our first day of first grade at St Rose of Lima, I was one of four Carol Annes that day. We were all in our uniforms but Carol Shedd stood out with that beautiful blonde hair and a big bow in her hair that Joan must have placed there that morning. She was so pretty of which she seemed unaware but she was always nice and kind even if you weren't part of the crowd that is how I remember her all through St. Rose and St. Brendans.
I am sure she is in a beautiful place now looking down on those she loved and asking God to take away there pain and replace it with happy memories and the love she has for them.
God Bless
Carol Byrnes Flynn

My favorite memory of my beautiful sister was walking her down the Aisle at St Rose on her wedding day. I gave her to Barry and they were married for the next 46 years. I couldn’t have given her to a better man. I miss you so much Sissy Ann Marie

I first met Carol when we were young nurses working at our first jobs at Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn. She had already been working there for 2 years when I started and without being asked she took me under her wing during a grueling orientation period. It was the beginning of a 45 year friendship that has included pregnancies and raising children, attending our children’s weddings and becoming grandmothers.
They say if you have a good friend you are rich. Well, I am the richest person in the world thanks to her!

On Sunday December 26th I lost my best friend my sister Carol (my sissy) that is what we called each other. I will miss u every minute of every day! Luv u always!
In life I loved u dearly
In death I love u still
In my heart I hold a place
That only u can fill.
It broke my heart to lose you
But u didn’t go alone.
As part of me went with u
The day God took u home.

There are no words. I have known Carol for decades. The fun we have had as children at St. Rose of Lima and hanging out at each other’s basements will never be forgotten. Pajama parties. Running through our babie dolls through Coney Island Avenue and stopping traffic. Lesley Gore songs. As we got older having our yearly lunches. So sad you are gone from earth but I am sure you (especially you) are in a better place She was funny and loved by all. We will miss you Carol but I know you you will be watching over all of us most especially your beloved husband, Barry, your two children, Sara and Thomas. Let’s not forget your adorable grandson, Dylan. Miss you already.

My heart is broken. Thankful for all our wonderful memories from rollerskating together in 2nd grade up through pur last day together on December 23. I hope you rode the biggest bluest wave into His glorious arms. Rest peacefully until we meet again. Let's all smile when we remember Carol and add a little twerk to our dance, ride a wave or light a candle to BV IN her honor. Love you girlfriend and will hold you in my heart always. MB2
