Obituary of Christopher G. Swendsen

Swendsen, Christopher George, November 19, 1951 - December 10, 2016. A devoted Public Servant for more than 35 years, after a brief illness. Predeceased by his father, Henry (1974) and Uncle Pat Brannigan, survived by his mother Margaret, sisters Jean (Stan) Bileschi, Beth (Kevin) Dowd and five nephews of whom he was most proud, Max (Katie), Ted, Will, Gavin and Nate, and many many lifelong friends throughout Long Island. Please remember Chris every time you hear a train whistle, jostle coins in your pocket or readjust your eyeglasses. But most of all remember him for his unwaivering perserverance in overcoming sight impairment. A true gentleman, who lived each day with compassion and kindness for others. Visitation Saturday 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Weigand Bros Funeral Home 49 Hillside Ave., Williston Park, NY. Funeral private.
