Please allow me to offer my condolences to the, DeRose family, with these comforting words: "With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: “Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his people. And God himself will be with them. And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”" - Rev. 21:3, 4. "Let his flesh become fresher than in youth; Let him return to the days of his youthful vigor." - Job 33:25. Truly, the resurrection is something for us to look forward to with eager anticipation and joy. I am very sorry for your loss. May God's Word comfort you and your family. Sincerely, Meryl

Gaye:
We were very sorry to hear of your loss. I remember Charlie's intelligence and athletic ability. However, I mostly remember his being a class act.

Our fathers were in the same class at Brooklyn Prep. Charlie was the senior QB when I was a freshman at Chaminade, where his brother was my classmate. We sat together at the Chaminade Open dinner this past June. We talked a little about the Navy, and his enormous pride in his granddaughter, a member of the Naval Academy class of 2017. This man was a Prince. Requiescat in Pace, good Charlie.
With great respect,
Bill Brown

We were lucky enough to have cheerful Charlie & Gaye as personal friends for over 30 years. Charlie's birthday was the day before Bob's, February 19th,(Bob's February 20th) and for the past 25 years we 4 have celebrated their birthdays at fine restaurants in the area every year. Gaye and I made them wear special "Birthday Boy" pins at least until the picture was taken. We will miss this February date.

Charles Vachris, our close personal friend was a Man's Man. Those who know the club in New York City which had on it's letterhead, "To Promote Manly Sports" will agree that this Banner was meant for Charlie..
He was the shining example of how to be everything in life that is along the lines of excellence! We were very fortunate to have played basketball and golf with Mr. Charles Vachris. We are better men for having had the privilege to be his friend..

I will miss my long time Manhasset friend and basketball
comrade Charlie . He was a wonderful athlete and basketball player; but even a better person and friend.
Charlie was always so supportive of Manhasset High School and was a past President of The Manhasset High School Booster Club. I will always remember him with a smile on his face when he greeted you and a "see ya babe " when you said good-bye. All of his buddies from Saturday Morning Basketball express their sorrow to hear of his passing and will keep his family in their thoughts and prayers. Rest in Peace Charlie; you will be sorely missed.
