Obituary of Lawrence (Larry) R. Ueland,Jr

Ueland, Larry of Williston Park, NY and Melbourne Beach, FL passed away on May 9, 2011 at the age of 90. He was the beloved husband of the late Judy Ueland. Larry was the dear brother of Alva McCann (John); loving father of Bobbe Ueland and Rick Ueland (Joanne); cherished grandfather of Lauren Moore (Sean), Christopher Ueland, Katie Ueland and great-grandfather of Seamus Moore. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Betty Willis, and long-time companion and friend, Janet Marsh, both of Melbourne Beach, Fl. as well as many other loving nieces and nephews. Larry served as a Navy Seabee in World War II from 1942-1946 in the Aleutians, Philippines and China. He retired after 40 years as a Construction Superintendent with Slattery Construction Company. Larry was always ready with a toast, a dance, a smile or to play a round of golf! Visitation is at Weigand Bros Funeral Home, 49 Hillside Ave. Williston Park, NY from 2-4 and 7-9 on Wednesday May 11th. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered by his godson, Father Robert Joerger C.P.at St. Aidan's RC Church on Thursday at 11:15. Interment will be at Holy Rood Cemetery.
