Whelen, Ruth of Mineola and Mattituck, L.I. , NY on March23, 2011. Beloved wife of the late John J. Devoted mother of Beth Smith (Leo), Jack (Nanette), Peggy Shanahan (Tommie) and the late Billy. Loving grandmother of Jessica, Kelly, Ryan, Kate, Patrick, Jenny, Matthew and Jill. Cherished sister of 9, survived by Rosemary, Doris and Ed. Also survived by many nieces and nephews and their families. Visitation Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Weigand Bros F.H. 49 Hillside Ave., Williston Park, NY. Funeral Mass Monday 11:15am St Aidan's Church. Interment L.I. National Cemetery, Pinelawn, NY
