FARUOLO - Frank J. Jr. 90, attorney and a 45 year resident of East Williston, NY, son of the late Josephine and Frank Faruolo of Brooklyn NY, passed away peacefully on December 2, 2010. Born in Brooklyn NY, graduated from Poly Prep in Brooklyn in 1938, and from Dartmouth College, where he majored in political Science, in 1942. Following graduation, he enlisted in the army, as did over 90% of his Dartmouth College class, serving in the United States Military Intelligence in France, Germany, and Belgium during WWII until 1946. He graduated from St. John's University Law School in February 1948 practicing law in Brooklyn. He moved to Long Island in 1953 and began a law practice on Long Island in 1965. He was an attorney until the age of 86. For many years he was the trial council for The Health Insurance Plan of Greater New York. Mr. Faruolo served as a member of the Nassau Bar Association Grievance Committee. He loved his work as an attorney, cared deeply about education, and was passionate about every aspect of the game of golf. He was a past president of the Long Island Golf Association, and the Long Island Senior Golf Association, a past Vice President and Secretary of the Long Island Caddie Scholarship Fund, a non-profit corporation that grants scholarships to young men and women who serve as caddies at Long Island golf courses. He was a past president of Wheatley Hills Golf Club. He served as a class officer for the Dartmouth Alumni Association for many years. He was involved with the Wheatley school district for 27 years, serving as past president of the school board, and later as attorney for the district. Frank was blessed with tremendous energy, a true zest for life. Whatever he did he did with great enthusiasm and dedication. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Lois. His wife Jacqueline Taliaferro died in 1957. He was the loving father of Frank Faruolo, Donna (Ted) Gillen, John (Angela) Faruolo, Edward Faruolo the late Thomas Faruolo, and the loving grandfather of Ted (Emily) Gillen, Jessica (Edward) Landon, Caroline Gillen, and the late Maryanne Gillen, John J. Faruolo, Mark Faruolo Nicholas Faruolo and his twin brother the late Matthew Faruolo. Fond sister of the late Anne Capra, fond brother-in law of James Capra, fond Uncle of James Capra, his wife Linda Ransom and their son Jim Capra. Fond Uncle of AnneMarie (Robert) Zenie. Frank and our entire family want to extend our heartfelt thanks to our wonderful friends for their devotion and friendship over the years. Cremation private. The family will receive friends at Weigand Bros., Inc. 49 Hillside Avenue Williston Park, NY 11596 on Friday December 10, from 2-5PM and 7-9PM. A memorial service is planed for Saturday December 11, 2010 at The Community Church of East Williston at 10:00AM.
