Obituary of Anthony Joseph DiFazio

Anthony J. DiFazio passed away on 23 January 2025 at the age of 91.  He was devoted to his wife Mary, whom he lovingly cared for as she suffered with Parkinson’s disease in her final years and passed away in 2007.

Born in 1933 in the Bronx to Italian immigrants Marianna and Benedetto, Anthony was the youngest of four children. He is predeceased by his sisters Betty and Florence, and his brother Sal.  Mary and Anthony married in 1955 and started their life and family together in Astoria.  They moved to Albertson in 1962 where Anthony lived until his passing.

Anthony is a proud veteran of the United States Army.  He worked his whole career for the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company, retiring in 1991.  He was a devout Roman Catholic, a parishioner of the Church of Saint Aidan since moving to Albertson, and an active volunteer for the church in his later years.

He is survived by his three children and their families, daughter Lorraine and her husband Peter, son Robert and his wife Mary Ann, and daughter Marianne and her husband Jeff; his eight grandchildren, Andrew, Christopher, Jeffrey, Joey, Kim, Lauren, Lauren, and Matthew; and his nine great grandchildren, Annie, Ava, Charlotte, Emily, JJ, Madison, Michaela, Miles, and Natalie.
