Obituary of Ann Marie "Nancy" Sweeney

Obituary for Ann "Nancy" Sweeney

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Ann "Nancy" Sweeney, who left us peacefully on January 20, 2025, at the age of 87. Born and raised in New York City. Nancy was the loving wife of the late James F. Sweeney and a devoted mother to James (Carol), Eileen [deceased] (Kevin), Patricia (Thomas), and Donna (Kenneth). Her life was one of grace, kindness, and unwavering love for her family and faith.

Nancy was a sweet, humble, and innocent woman whose devotion to her Irish heritage and Catholic faith shaped every aspect of her life. She raised her four children with immense love and care in the close-knit community of Woodhaven, Queens where she was known for her
gentle spirit and warm heart. Throughout her life, she was a constant source of support and joy to all who knew her.

As a grandmother to 12 and great-grandmother to 10, Nancy's legacy of love lives on through her growing family. Her kindness, strength, and the lessons she imparted will be remembered by all who were blessed to know her. She was a woman of deep faith, a loving mother, and a
cherished friend, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and devotion. Nancy will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on forever in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all who loved her. May she rest in peace, reunited with her beloved husband, James, and dear daughter, Eileen.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
