Michael Patrick Murphy

September 13, 1974 – December 28, 2024

With heavy hearts, we share the news of Michael Patrick Murphy's passing at the age of 50. Michael was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a cherished friend.

Michael's greatest joy was his family. He was a dedicated husband to his beloved wife and a proud father to his four daughters: Vanessa, Mackenzie, Riley, and Brianna. Watching his children grow into remarkable individuals was his most meaningful accomplishment.

He was also a beloved son-in-law to Barbara-Lee Banwell, who, along with the rest of the family, deeply mourns his loss.

Michael served as a sergeant with the NYPD for 22 years, leaving a lasting impact through his unwavering dedication to his community. After his service, he joined Local 30 and worked at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital for six years. Most recently, he was employed at Zurich Insurance for 2½ months before his untimely passing.

Michael was known for his infectious laugh that could light up any room. He brought joy and warmth to everyone who knew him. His love, humor, and strength will be deeply missed but forever cherished by his family and friends.
