Obituary of Roberta A. Lange

Roberta Ann Lange was born on January 28th, 1938, in Woodhaven Queens, New York to Herbert and Frances Walter. She was the oldest of three children. As a young woman, she graduated High School and began venturing out into the world to seek its opportunities. Along with her passion for music, dancing, gardening, crossword puzzles and watching soap operas on television, Roberta was ready to begin her own family.

In an apartment in Ozone Park, Roberta was the proud mother of four children. In hopes of providing larger living quarters for her family, she moved to Williston Park, in Nassau County, New York. There, she raised her family and began working for Nassau County in a clerical position. She worked there for approximately 15 years and dedicated her time to serving the people of Nassau County. Roberta also would travel to spend quality time with her family in Woodloch Pines, Pennsylvania to enjoy the scenery of the lakes and country life living. She was an avid swimmer who spent many summer weekends with her children at Jones Beach. She taught her four children to appreciate the beauty that the sun, water and sand had to offer. With their mother, the children had many fond memories of those times. As time progressed, Roberta’s family grew and expanded with the arrival of three grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. The expansion of her family brought her much happiness.

On October 15 th , 2024, the sun set on a long life that was well lived. She joined the Lord to be with her parents Herbert and Frances Walter and son-in-law Bobby Lostumbo at the Gates of Heaven. Left behind to mourn her passing are her brother Richard Walter and wife Irene Walter, sister Mary Ellen Walter, son Robert Lange, daughter Laura Lostumbo, daughter Diane Hunt, son Russell Lange and wife Alison Lange, grandson Thomas Hunt and Lupe Medina, granddaughter Tina Marie Navarro and husband Oscar Navarro, grandson Maddox Lange, great- children Julian, Louis, Katalina and along with nephews and nieces. Roberta will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate to know her – may she rest in eternal peace.
