You were a shining gem, a never ending light in the lives of all the people who had the privilege of knowing you. I was born knowing love and care of the utmost regard with you in my life. You taught me, supported me, accepted me. You created a home for me, my sisters, my cousins. You hosted our sleepovers. You tucked me and Sarah and Mackenzie into bed with that red blanket. You snuck us spending money at the shore and wouldn’t let us give it back. You taught me how to play checkers. You always cooked an extra pot of pasta because you knew I was a picky eater. You allowed us free rein of your home, your heart, and us, you. You are a part of me, of all of us, woven into our bloodlines, our memories, our thoughts. I’ll miss you forever, your magee. I love you to the moon and back.

Dear Bob and all the your family. I stepped into your lives back in the summer of 1997 when I was sent from Ireland to St Aidan’s Church. The boys were looking after the Secretary desk in the parish and we had some fun conversations. However, I was invited and welcomed into your home and Pat prepared a mighty meal. We had a great laugh. Then, I attended my first block party as well with the family. Pat was supplying the food, chatting away with me but having a watchful eye on the young boys and their friends. Thank you for those memories and continued gratitude over the years to date. I’m deeply sorry that I cannot be with you at this sad time of grief. Please accept my sincere sympathies and prayers. Mass will be celebrated for the repouse of her soul. May the Lord God bless her gentle soul and rest in eternal peace.. Amen. Fr Brendan Foley (São Paulo, Brazil).

One of my favorite things about my grandma is how much she gave my cousins and I. No amount of words or numbers could even come close to saying what she’s done for us. She’s given us so much love, encouragement, memories, bonds that will last a lifetime and a place to create them. I have had the privilege of growing up knowing that there is always a place for me at grandmas house.
