Obituary of James P. Connolly

James Patrick Connolly, 46, of East Williston, passed away on Wednesday May 1st, 2024. 

His amazing life will forever be cherished in the lives of his loving wife Jennifer and his beautiful children Daniel and Lucy. He will always be adored by his mother Elizabeth, brother Robert and sister-in law Diane, sister Maureen and brother-in-law Andrew, sister Katherine and brother-in-law Byrne, nieces and nephews: Megan & Melissa, Ben & Anna, Leah & Isla.  He was loved like a son by his mother-in law Lucille and father-in Law Paul Romano. He will be fondly remembered by his brother-in law Paul, sister-in law Dawn and niece Lorelai.  


James was born and raised in Mineola. He attended Mineola High School and went on to St. John’s University to pursue his passion of teaching. He chose to be a math teacher and began his career in education in the Elmont School District. He would later move into the Syosset School District where his talents and enthusiasm for teaching are legendary. Throughout his tenure hewould serve as a Teacher in South Woods Middle School and ascend to Principal of the A.P. Willits Elementary School. Along the way he touched countless lives and left a lasting impression which is evident in the love that the Syosset Community feels for “Team Connolly”  

Visitation will be held Monday May 6th from 4-8 pm at Weigand Bros Funeral Home, Williston Park, NY. Funeral mass will follow on Tuesday May 7th At St Aidans Church at 10am.
