I only knew Thomas through social media, due to people we both knew. Back in December, one of my Facebook memories from about a year ago (two years? not really sure...) showed up, and it was about some credit card breach/id theft I was dealing with. Thomas IMMEDIATELY offered his assistance without any reservation. That was just so unexpected and so appreciated. What a generous gesture. I really miss him. His stories about his everyday experiences were always so well written and rich with detail.

My beloved, brother, I still cannot believe you are gone from this earth, but I shall always carry your heart in mine.
You were the first baby I ever held, the first feeling of unconditional love. You were the first 3 year old I taught to read, and watching that light in your eyes as words formed together on the page was a priceless, precious memory. I was fiercely protective of you in life, but taught you how to stand up for yourself and be proud of yourself.
It only took me 55 years to realize that ultimately, YOU are the reason that I became an educator, and an advocate for children.
I never realized it 'til now. Okay, maybe I'm a slow learner:)
I have the most beautiful memories of you and I together, always filled with laughter and tenderness, that far outweigh the struggles, because unconditional love is unbreakable. And forgiveness is peace.
This is all I can manage now, but you know theres much more to say.
Your loving family, friends and colleagues have been so incredibly supportive, and we are grateful.
Thomas, I'll always see the world through your eyes, as well as my own. "Your true colors were beautiful, like a rainbow"
Loving you ever - Catherine
