Obituary of Marjorie R. Mahoney

MAHONEY-Smithing, Marjorie R -of Williston Park on 1/13/2024 at 99 years. Beloved wife of the late Thomas J. Mahoney. Devoted mother of Robert T. Smithing, Kent, WA (Madeline), Gary W. Smithing, Williston Park (Kristin) and son-in-law Avelino Pereira. She was predeceased by her daughter, Valerie Pereira. Also survived by grandchildren Thomas and Daniel Pereira, Alex Wiley Smithing, Carrie Smithing, Mary Pepper; great grandchildren Benjamin and Kaiden Smithing, and Mallory Tobin-Pereira, as well as several dear nieces and nephews. Predeceased by Brothers Robert, Arthur and Byron Lester of Honesdale, PA.
Retired employee of the Village of Williston Park, she was a member of the Nassau County Firemen’s Assn Ladies Auxiliary, LAFASNY and a member and past president of the Williston Park Ladies Auxiliary. A (50S) year member of the Williston Unit #144 American Legion Auxiliary, Past President of Williston Chapter of NC Homemakers and member of the Williston Park Seniors and Williston Park Historical Committee, and of the Williston Park Library Book Club.


Weigand Bros. Funeral Home, Hillside Avenue, Williston Park. Visiting 2-4 and 7-9 on Sunday 1/21/24. Funeral service on Monday 1/22 at 9:45am at The Episcopal Church of Resurrection, Campbell Ave & Center St., Williston Park followed by burial at Nassau Knolls Cemetery.
