It was a wonderful day for me when I was accepted into CRIMSON CHAPEAUX by the regal Queen Louise Virgilio. All the activities, excursions, and fellowship added such a positive note to my life. Louise is one of those unforgettable women in my life. I am so very sorry she had to leave us, and she shall be both missed and remembered to no end. Louise was a rare creative person who was an impeccable planner. and leader. My deepest sympathies go out to her sons and extended family, for she now lives only in memories; and I hope those memories will help the sadness dissapate. Sincerely, Sheril J. McCormack

Our Crimson Chapeaux chapter of the Red Hat Society was formed by our beloved queen, Louise, 20 + years ago. She was both the helm and the anchor of her newly created group which she nurtured with creativity. She steered us to activities, adventures, trips, city excursions, dining out and artistic encounters. She led our chapter with a sense of calm and grace. Louise has been a class act. She carried herself in a regal manner with style and class, always dressing in beautifully coordinated fashion. She would love to buy white and beige outfits and then dye them to just the shade of purple she desired. One year, Louise was crowned Ms. Long Island Red Hatter. She beamed with joy. We were all so proud. Louise's computer skills were brilliant. All Long Island Red Hat chapters benefitted from her expertise. She shared information about events that were open to all. Our chapter was fortunate to receive a weekly newsletter and often we received photos and wonderful videos. Louise leaves behind beautiful memories of friendship, fellowship and endless joyful gatherings and trips. She was a unique woman who was admired and respected by many. In the hearts of those who loved her, she will always be with us.

I have a wonderful personal story to tell you about Louise. In January of 2010, I was receiving chemotherapy. For every session that I had, Louise would arrive at the hospital to keep me company. She would bring a movie, a video or some other thing of interest. Her caring and compassion was amazing. It touched my heart. I was blessed with her friendship.
