Obituary of Robert C. Castioni

Please share a memory of Robert to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

On the morning of July 24, 2023, Robert "Bob" Charles Castioni Jr., 67, passed away peacefully after a brief but courageous battle with cancer.  The eldest of five, he was born in Brooklyn, NY, to his late parents, Robert and Dorothy, and raised in Forest Hills, NY, of which he kept strong ties throughout his life.  For over twenty years he resided in Williston Park, NY.  He is survived by his loving wife of thirty-six years, Margaret Mary, and three children:  Laura (Michael), Jennifer and Robert.  Proud grandfather to Colin, Keira and Erin.  Loving brother to Richard (Karen), Craig, Charles and Lisa (Jay).  Adored uncle to his seven nieces and nephews.

An alumnus of Hillcrest Highschool (Class of 1974) and SUNY Binghamton (Class of 1978), Bob dedicated his life to service. From Forest Hills Volunteer Ambulance Corp since 1974 to roles with U.S. Customs and later the Department of Homeland Security from 1980 - 2013, he served with unwavering commitment. Bob was also a stalwart member of Grace Lutheran Church and a recognized first responder during the World Trade Center bombing (1993) and the events of September 11th, 2001.

His enduring legacy remains an inspiration to all who knew him. May his soul rest in peace.
