Alfred Scanlon

1925-2023

 

Alfred Scanlon, 97, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 21, 2023. 

 

Al was loving-kindness personified and instantly lit up every room he entered. His warmhearted, affectionate nature was best demonstrated through his devotion to his wife, Julia, whom he was married to for 79 years before her passing less than a year ago. Other than the two years Al spent serving in the U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II, the couple were nearly inseparable – and it is not surprising to those who knew them best that Al’s passing would so soon follow that of his beloved.

 

Al is survived by his son Dennis and daughter Kathryn; daughters-in-law Nora and Eileen and son-in-law Stephen; grandchildren Thomas, Daniel, Donna, Jenna, Laura, Kristin and Michael; great grandchildren Katie, Ella, Helena, Calvin and Rudy and sister Irene. Al was preceded in death by his wife Julia, son Thomas and brothers Bob and Conrad.

Al will be very dearly missed by his family and friends.
