Obituary of Mary Yinha Lo

Mary Yin Ha Lo (Chan), passed away on Sunday May 7th, 2023 in Port Washington, NY.  Born in Hong Kong on November 11, 1932 to parents For Chan and Sute Wong, she is survived by her husband of 72 years, Henry Wing Hong Lo, her daughter Agnes AuYeung, her husband Tommy and their children Daniel and Ada, and son Donny Lo, his wife Susan and their children Ashley and Joshua, and her great-grandchild, Guen AuYeung.  

Mary and Henry married in Hong Hong in the early 1950's and led a fashionable life as a young urban couple. In 1975 she and Henry moved to the United States with their family to San Mateo, California, then relocated to New Hyde Park, then Garden City Park, and finally Port Washington, New York.  In her early years in the United States, Mary was an accomplished seamstress and business partner to Henry in their varied enterprises including a deli and a restaurant supply company. In her spare time she loved to play mahjong and have a good laugh. 

In her later years, Mary devoted herself to her family and enjoyed a quiet home life. Her great joy was her grandchildren and spending time gathered together. Mary had a great love of adventure, enjoyed a good joke, and her laugh was infectious. Mary was always put-together with a smart outfit for every occasion and loved to look her best. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, a loving mother, and the kindest of souls.
