Obituary of Rosemary Strom
Rosemary Pauline Strom of East Williston passed on March 24, 2023 at 91 ¾ years of age. Rosemary was born in Manhattan and always considered herself a city girl. She moved to Queens while in middle school and immediately skipped a grade as she was deemed too far above her class level. She was bright, personable and had a large group of girlfriends she would later refer to as her “gang.” She fell in love and married the only guy she felt was smarter than she was – Alfred Strom, who predeceased her in 2004 at age 77. Despite missing him, she enjoyed going to the senior “fun” center, seeing family, listening to music and working daily on crossword puzzles and jumbles. She will always be remembered, cherished and deeply missed for her outgoing personality, caring nature and her quick wit. Rosemary was adored by and loved her younger brother, Fred. She was beloved by her girls, Karen, Lisa and Heidi, who were with her at her passing. Sadly, her daughter Christine predeceased her in 2012. Rosemary was proud grandmother to Jaclyn, Greg and Alyssa and Aunt to Jeffrey, Curtis and Drew. She will be deeply missed by her family and dear friends. Private interment Tuesday March 28th following brief family visit at Weigand Bros. Funeral Home; burial at Calverton National Cemetery, Wading River.
