Obituary of William Martin Hager

William 'Bill' Martin Hager

William 'Bill' Hager passed away, aged 91 years on March 2, 2023. Bill was born in Brooklyn, NY on May 16, 1931 to George and Frances Hager. He attended Saint John's Preparatory School in Brooklyn, NY and City College of New York where he earned a bachelor's degree. He served in the US Navy during the Korean War, stationed in Florida, and subsequently worked for many years as a bond trader on Wall Street. He was an avid daily reader of the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times, enjoyed annual summer trips with his family to camps and cabins in New Hampshire, loved to dance and also performances at Molloy College throughout the years. Until his health failed, he was a parishioner at the Church of St. Aidan in Williston Park, NY.

He was predeceased by the love of his life, his wife Erna, his brothers George and Joseph, and sister Frances (Desmond). He is survived by his loving children, Kathryn and James of Williston Park, NY, Karl (Janet) and grandchildren Claire and Grace of Branford, CT, Barbara (Bill) of Syracuse, NY, and numerous nieces and nephews.
