Obituary of Ann M. Behr

Please share a memory of Ann to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Ann M. Behr of Kings Park, New York, widow of Steve Behr (March 2011), loving mother of Adam Behr, Liza Narvas (née Behr), and Jared Behr, passed away peacefully while surrounded by her loving children and family at the age of 70 on Friday, February 17, 2023.

Ann was born on August 1, 1952 in Mineola, New York. She and her brother Dr. Michael Lyons were raised in Albertson, New York, by their mother Ann Lyons.

On November 3, 1974, Ann married Steve Behr in Albertson, New York. They shared a joyful, storybook marriage for 37 years until Steve’s untimely passing on March 1, 2011.

As a dedicated homemaker Ann raised three children, Adam Behr, Liza Narvas (neé Behr), and Jared Behr in Melville, New York in a house filled with love, laughter, and her impeccably good taste. She was a devoted, loving, fun mom who could never get enough time with her children, and just as amazing a grandmother to her six grandchildren.

As a person, Ann will be remembered for her keen mind, quick wit, and unparalleled humor. Her toughness, loyalty, and the way she cared so deeply for her friends and family will always be remembered by those of us lucky enough to have known her.

Ann is survived by her brother, Dr. Michael Lyons and sister-in-law Dr. Kathleen Brady, son Adam Behr and his fiancée Dr. Alana Harp, daughter Liza Narvas (née Behr) and her husband Greg Narvas, son Jared Behr and his wife Dr. Lauren Shikowitz-Behr, niece Morgan Bradylyons, nephew Drew Bradylyons, niece Dr. Ashley Bradylyons, and by her six grandchildren, Indiana Behr, Lorelei Behr, Easton Narvas, Sawyer Narvas, Elizabeth Behr, and Simon Behr.

Ann’s family takes comfort in knowing that she is finally together again with her husband and the love of her life, Steve.
