May you find joy and peace in knowing what a wonderful person Professor Valentini was. I worked as a front desk clerk while she was Chair. She would go on trips and always remember me and my love for mangos. She was kind, fair and attentive to student needs. I was more than fond of her.

My second position at FIT was in FMM and Diane was the chair. She was one of the nicest and friendliest people I have been fortunate enough to work with. At the time I had a young son, who always failed to check in after school. And years later if I saw Diane in the hallway, she would say, 'How is Michael?" and we would laugh. Rest in peace, you were beautiful in and out. Francine

I met Dede when I decided to return to school to figure out the next step to take in my career. I have always looked on with good memories of how respectful she was as the FBM chair when I took classes and the same level of good nature after I started teaching and she became a colleague There aren't many people who in passing on I have expressed surprise and a little melancholy out loud to my computer screen, but it was my automatic response when I read the bereavement notice. All condolences to her family. She was in her way (a decent) one of a kind

My Dearest Friend, Dede, has gone on to the next chapter in her eternal journey. She was funny, she was generous, she was smart, she was loyal, and she was successful at whatever she did. She was reluctant to accept gifts, but never shy about giving. them. She shared her wisdom with me, and it enabled me to move on with my life. Her circles of friends were huge, consisting of relatives, neighbors, colleagues, and longtime chums. She extended a welcoming hand to newcomers, and she was the force that brought everyone together. Dede, Thank You for being my friend. You will always be in my heart and memories. My prayers and thoughts go out to Rudy, Chris and David, and the entire Valentini and Szakmary families.
