A CELEBRATION OF LIFE GATHERING WILL TAKE PLACE AT A LATER DATE
Ammirati, Phyllis (Mundo)
Phyllis Ammirati (nee Mundo) passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on January 14, 2023, at her home in Williston Park, New York at the age of 95. Phyllis was born in Bronx, New York and raised
in South Ozone Park, New York. She worked as a bank teller in the City Line section of Brooklyn before getting married and starting her family. Her husband was the late Nicholas Ammirati from Brooklyn, New York. She is the cherished mother of Rae, Teresa and Lisa, beloved mother-in-law of Larry Quish and Rick Adamek, and the devoted grandmother (Fa-Fa) to Ryan and Matthew Quish whom she loved and cherished. She was loved and admired by her many nieces and nephews, friends and neighbors. Phyllis was the eldest of five sisters – the late Mary Piazza, the late Rose Cresci, Josephine Tarantino, and Santa Cambria. We are grateful that Phyllis lived a long and fulfilling life. Although her heart was strong her body was tired, and we will forever miss her.
Phyllis was the consummate animal lover and her focus throughout her life was to rescue as many strays as possible – and she did! Therefore, in lieu of flowers, a charitable donation in Phyllis Ammirati’s name can
be made to one of the following organizations:
Stephanie’s Shepherds Rescue [a 501(c)(3) organization]
