Jack S. Birbiglia of Westbury, passed away on January 7th 2023. Jack was born on March 10th, 1931 to Stephen and Anna Birbiglia in Brooklyn, NY. He grew up there with his older brother Frank and younger sister Angela. After serving in the army as Master Sergeant in the Korean War, he finished his education at City College in New York City. After graduating with his Masters Degree, he was an Assistant Principal in IS61 in Corona, Queens and then went on to be the Principle at PS199 in Long Island City. In 1957, he married the love of his life, Mary Sotelo, and went on to have 3 children, Carol, Stephen, and Jack. He raised his children in Valley Stream, where he lived for 55 years. Jack loved all sports. Some of his favorites were hand ball, golf, and skiing. His favorite team was the New York Mets. He traveled the world with his beautiful wife Mary, along side his many children and grandchildren. Jack is survived by his 3 children and their spouses, Carol and Frank, Stephen and Karen, Jack and Kim. He also has 10 grandchildren, Stephanie, Brittany, Ryan, Michaela, Francesca, Jake, Marc, Dean, Zachary, and Ana. He absolutely adored his great grandchildren, Luka, Christian, and Addison. He lived an amazing 92 years, filled with fun, family, good health, and lots of love. He will be dearly missed.
