On July27th Our Heavenly Father unexpectedly and tragically took Marina (Gabunia) Verriest from us to fill Heaven with Her music. This event is compounded by the loss of her son Giorgi just 10 days before. She is survived by her husband Richard Verriest Sr. Her stepson Ricky her sister and brother-in-law Nurki and Gogi her niece Nina and her family Juan-Pablo and Eva Marie and our little buddy Tiger. Marina came here in the fall of 1998 to better support son and Sisters Family after sudden death of her husband. She did domestic work and home care for some time. Later marrying Richard and now able to peruse her training as a pianist. She
trained at the conservatory in Tblisi where she also worked for a while along with a traveling Entertainment company. She became well known here in the Ballet community. Most recently playing at Joffrey Ballet School, American Theater Dance Workshop, Ballet Academy East and several more over the years. Along with Complexations Ballet Company, the off-Broadway show Even Song and appearing in the movie Match. Her son came here in 2004 shortly before her wedding. She loved her son and family here and abroad and spending time with them all creating many joyful memories. They were her life. She also liked spending time in the country in upstate New York. Her loss deeply saddens us all and for many years to come We all come together
now not to mourn Her passing but to celebrate Her Life. Please join with us in doing so.
