As we go through the stages of life, we meet people along the way that have made an impression on our life and heart, Jimmy was one of those people for me. I met Jimmy on my first Notre Dame away weekend in 1981. Jimmy always made you feel special and loved, he listened and cared deeply for everyone in his life. He really helped me a lot in those young years. I’m still in disbelief that he has passed and I am so sad for the whole Pelan family, especially Mrs. Pelan. I will never forget Jimmy….he truly was a blessing. I am forever grateful I met him that day.

My heart has lost another piece of it today. Jimmy and I have known each other since my early teens. He was one of the nicest, sweetest men I have ever had the pleasure to know. God bless you all Pelan family especially my darling Mrs. Pelan. I love you so much. Until I see you all, I am here for all of you always. Just a phone call away. God bless you all. Rest in peace. I know you are with Mr. Pelan.

I'm very sad to hear about my good friend passing away. Jimmy and I worked odd jobs , played sports and got into a minimal amount of mischief growing up in New Hyde Park. He was a good man and had many friends , a great guy to know and hang out with. I can not make the services but my heart will be there. I wish the great Pelan family my condolences. Greg Merkle
