Obituary of John P. Lekstutis
John Paul Lekstutis passed away on Monday, May 30, 2022 at the age of 78. He is survived by his children (Paul Lekstutis, Valerie Cody, Jonathan Lekstutis and Carmine Lekstutis) and his 7 grandchildren.
John was born on December 5, 1943. He grew up in Brooklyn with his parents and siblings, graduated from Manhattan College, earned a Master's Degree from Manhattan College and enjoyed a successful career as an Environmental Engineer before retiring as President of The LiRo Group. Outside of work, John was active in the East Williston community, volunteering as a member of the Fire Department and sitting on the Library Board.
John met his soon to be wife, Lillian Bracco, in May of 1969 and married her later that year on October 25. Lillian was the love of his life and they spent 50 years happily married before Lillian passed away on October 11, 2020. Together they provided a loving and supportive home for their 4 children and 7 grandchildren. John was a great man who had a singular focus of working for and supporting his family. He was a role model to his children and helped ensure their success in life.
John will be missed dearly by all who knew him.
At John's request, a small service will be held for family members. As an expression of sympathy, and in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the National Alliance on Mental Illness.
