Obituary of Sara E. Hajduk

Sara E. Hajduk of Mineola, NY passed away peacefully on May 4^th, 2022 at the age of 87.  It is with great sadness and broken hearts that we say good-bye to our beloved wife, mom, grandma and beautiful friend.

Sara was born on December 6^th, 1934 in Lima, Peru.  She was a devoted wife to Edward Hajduk for over 55 years and loving mom to both Ann and Sara. 

Sara spent her days caring for her grandchildren and cooking for family and friends.  She often made a weekly lasagna for anyone she loved! She had a knack for making people feel special.  Sara was also an avid gardener and loved birds.  Today, her beautiful flowers are in full bloom in the backyard.  She was an active parishioner of St. Aidan’s Catholic Church for nearly 30 years and truly enjoyed talking to Father Jeff and listening to Monsignor McDonald’s inspirational homilies.  Sara’s favorite month was May because it honors the Virgin Mary who always held a very important place in her heart.

For the past several years, Sara battled Alzheimer’s disease.  Her courage and bravery will never be forgotten.

Sara is survived by her loving husband, Ed; daughters: Ann and Sara; sons-in-law: James and Bill; five grandchildren: Billy, Johnny, Andy, Ryan and Ellen; and grand dog, Lulu.

In lieu of flowers, we ask for donations to be made in our mom’s honor to the Alzheimer’s Association.
