Obituary of Patricia M. Cusumano

Patricia Cusumano (Pat) of Mineola and formerly of New Hyde Park and Rockland County passed away peacefully at the age of 94. She was born on October 18, 1927 in Brooklyn to William and Sadye Storms. Pat was widowed when her husband Matty passed away suddenly in 1994. Her Sister Grace Storms predeceased her.

Pat lived in Douglaston, New Hyde Park, Roslyn and Mineola. Then she moved to Elmsford in Westchester, Airmont in Rockland County before returning to Mineola.

Pat was a working mom in the 1970’s when many mothers were not yet in the workforce. She worked for numerous companies in their accounting departments. She was always at her children’s activities, including the chilly ice-skating rink. Following her retirement, Pat resumed volunteering her time with Senior Connections at the Shelter Rock Public Library, Westchester County Archives and Mothers and Children in Mineola.

Pat was an avid reader who could easily finish a book a day. In addition to reading, Pat enjoyed traveling, dining out, going to the movies, crafts, going to New York City to the theater, shopping and spending time with her family. Pat traveled to Italy, Mexico, Canada, the Caribbean and extensively in the USA. Sharing a bottle of wine with her family in front of the fireplace in the Poconos always made for special times. Pat especially enjoyed spending holidays and birthdays with her family.

Pat is survived by her children Cindy Cusumano and Andrea Meluskey, her son-in-law Rich and her Granddog Augie. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law Rae Garvey and Theresa Cusumano, her niece and nephews and her great nieces and nephews.
