Obituary of Jean DeNicola

Jean DeNicola (Jeannie) of Garden City passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family. Jean was 80 years old. She was born on June 29th, 1941 in Manhattan to Dorina and Henry Schulz.

Jean was courageous and in spite of many health obstacles and chronic pain, remained kind and dedicated to her family and friends. At the end she was peaceful and ready to be reunited with her husband, Pat (Patty-boy).

Jean spent 35 years working as an administrator at Our Lady of Hope Roman Catholic Church in Middle Village, and subsequently Our Lady of Mount Carmel, located in Astoria, Queens. She took great pride in publishing the weekly Sunday bulletin for the parishioners.

Jean loved to dance, travel, and attend the Broadway theatre. She loved dogs and enjoyed sitting in the yard with her neighbors and their pets.

Jean was survived by her children, Donna (John) and Michael (Josephine), grandchildren, Cassie and Matthew, and sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Bob. Jean was graced to have a large loving family with many cousins, nieces and nephews, including the Berruti, Durando, DeNicola, Viola, Gaffoglio and Ruggerio families.
