Obituary of Helen Flynn

Helen Flynn, 99, of Manhasset NY passed into God's hands on Christmas Day,December 25,2013 surrounded by her loving family. Devoted wife of 49 years to the late James P Flynn. Helen was a loving mother to daughter Patricia and her husband Walter Baber, daughter Peggy and her husband Joseph Reilly, daughterJoan and her husband Michael Porcaro, son James and his wife Marguerite Flynn, son Michael and his wife Gail Flynn. She was a cherished grandmother of thirteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Helen is survived by her beloved sister Marion. She was predeceased by sister Marcy and brothers Frederick and Donald. Helen is also survived by her wonderful friend Eleanor Miller. Helen was a member of St Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Manhasset for over 45 years. She served as a Eucharistic Minister, participated in the Parish Outreach Program and was a choir member. Prior to residing in Manhasset, Helen served as the President of the Rosary Society at St Clare's Roman Catholic Church in Rosedale, NY for 16 years. She devoted her life to serving God through her family and the church ministry. Helen worked as an Administrator for the Social Security Administration for over twenty years. Helen has touched so many lives with her kindness, generosity, support and prayers. She will be deeply missed by family and friends. Visitors welcomed at the Weigand Funeral Home, 49 Hillside Ave, Williston Park, NY, 11596 on Friday, December 27,2013 from 2:00-4:00 PM and 7:00 - 9:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, December 28,2013 at 11 :00 A.M. at St Mary's Church, Manhasset. Interment to follow at Mount St Mary's Cemetery, Flushing, Queens.
