Obituary of Jia N. Printz
Jia Printz was a force of nature. Her energy, warmth and compassion for all around her was infectious. In just a few moments, she could tear down the walls to your heart with a light of pure, penetrating joy and love. As a young child, she had a natural penchant for gymnastics and swimming. Jia's talents blossomed through music and the arts, earning her awards for her viola from NYSSMA and the Mineola Middle School Orchestra. A model of selflessness, Jia would always seek to help and comfort others, offering unconditional friendship whenever she could, earning her the Citizenship award at her middle school. She performed with the theater department in middle and high school, and had begun participation in the pit section of the Mineola High School Marching Band.
Jia was born in Kunshan, China, and was adopted at the age of seven months on October 30th, 2007 by her parents Maureen and Jon. She is remembered for her ceaseless energy, curiosity, sense of humor and the light that she spread to all around her.
From an ancient Chinese proverb:
An invisible red thread connects those who are destined to meet.
Regardless of time, place or circumstance.
The thread may stretch or tangle, but never break.
Jia Printz passed away July 28th, 2021 at the age of 14. We will remember her smile, her laugh and her joy, and the red thread will never break.
