Obituary of Edward J McCrain

McCrain—Edward J. (“Poppy”) of Albertson, New York. Passed away peacefully at the age of 82 on March 30, 2021. Proudly served as a member of the U.S. Navy and the NYPD Detective Bureau for 30 years. Beloved husband of Mary McCrain and predeceased wife Cecilia McCrain. Edward was the second youngest of 12 siblings, survived by Joseph, Patricia, Lois, and Dorothy. Father of Susan McCrain Solosky (Kenneth), Patricia Cregan Navarra (Paul), Michael Cregan. Adored grandfather of Marygrace Navarra, Caroline Navarra, Kenny Solosky, Patrick Solosky, and Brendan Cregan. Honorary grandfather of the Yorke kids. The family will receive visitors on Friday April 2 from 7-9 pm and Saturday April 3 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm at Weigand Brothers Funeral Home, 49 Hillside Ave, Williston Park, NY, 11596.
