Muriel was a wonderful friend to our young family when my husband was assistant minister at EWCC from 1960-66. We sang together in the church choir & she became a second Mom to our 3 children , teaching them new skills , & bringing new foods (from her garden) , We were welcome anytime & our kids all enjoyed playing there with her children , where Christine watched over the flock ! Wonderful memories ...we love you , Muriel !
Thanks to Mary who notified me of her passing which I appreciate & would have written her directly , but no return address !

Muriel, 80 years ago you and I spent several weeks together on a trip with cousin Beulah. It w a s then that we discovered, in spite of our differences, we liked one another and enjoyed doing things together. Since then , the journey has been great. Thank you for your example of devotion to what is important in life. See you in the morning.
Your Cuz, Charlotte

My deepest sympathy to the Tatem family. Muriel was an intelligent and hard working woman. She was an environmentalist to the end and was always welcomed at the Old Westbury Village Hall. I will miss her.

I first met Mrs. Tatem when working at the Village Hall in Old Westbury where she was a resident and member of the Environmental Committee. I quickly learned that she was a fiercely independent, proud, caring woman with a good sense of humor. My prayers and sympathies to the family. She was one of a kind.
