Obituary of John Smith

John Smith passed peacefully on August 13, 2020. Son to George and Katherine Smith. Beloved husband of 63 years to Maria Smith. Father to George, Dominic and Donna. Brother to Helen, Josephine, Marie, George, Stella, Adela and brother in law to Gus, Bill, Stanley, Lloyd, Edward, and Walter. Father in law to Jennifer Smith and Cynthia Drivas. Grandfather to Jeff, Rachel (Matt) and Michael. Faithful Mets and Giants fan, John will be remembered mostly for his gentle, loving and kind nature, his ability to help and fix anything and his sense of humor. He and Maria spent 99% of their time together and were inseparable. Seeing his grandchildren always brought bursts of laughter and sound advice. His smile was ear to ear when he was with them. All time with his family, nieces and nephews and extended Williston Park family was cherished. Summers at the shore with Gus, Josephine, Diane, Kevin, Meghan and Denis were priceless. Sitting under the shady tree sipping orange dreams and wearing their annual Old Navy 4th of July shirts was a faithful tradition. He will be missed by all and eternally in our hearts.
