I had the joy of knowing Frances at the Westbury Senior Center. In our Special Friends group, It was obvious that Frances was a quick witted person and it was a pleasure to share our activities with her.
She will be missed.

I have so many wonderful and cherish memories of Fran that are forever etched in my mind and on my heart. Frank and I had the privilege of living next door neighbor to Fran and Jim for 13 wonderful years. So, Fran, here is just some of the memories that come to mind: 5 pm cocktails on your patio, dinner parties, late night night-caps with deep and meaningful conversations, Eddie running between our yards, your grandkids playing with my son in our back yards, weekends together East Hampton, our visit to Marathon and Key West, Halloween pumpkin picking in the fall, vacationing in Italy, endless house renovation projects, your advise on raising boys, make appetizers out of leftovers, lessons on how to cook fat-free and salt-free, sharing books, putting up your awning every year as an annual sign summer, enjoying your beautiful garden, listening to Pavarotti, advise on how to be a better wife, and my list goes on and on. May your boys find contentment in their memories of you. I know that by the Grace of God you are in Heaven today with your beloved Jim. XXOO Mary Paparella

I remember Fran as a shining light every time I passed her at North Shore Middle School.
Always smiling..always referring to her students with such care and empathy
This did not go unnoticed.
What a wonderful contribution to so many of her students.
Please accept my condolences.

Fran...... Well, we finally found out what the "G" stood for in your middle name. The way you went on we all imagined some awful name like Griselda or Gertrude. All the time it was Grace. How appropriate ! Anyone whose life was touched by yours was truly graced. Your small stature hid a heart the size of the universe. You were my beloved colleague, my mentor, but best of all my friend. The seven years we spent teaching together at North Shore Middle School were the finest of my career. The hundreds of students touched by your wisdom and superb pedagogy will forever have a niche in their hearts for their beloved Mrs. Casola. Your fellow teachers shall miss that mile- wide smile, wicked sense of humor, and genuine generosity of mind and spirit. Rest , dear friend, with your beloved Jim.
