Obituary of Louise Frances Prendergast

It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Louise, our loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and friend to all whose lives she touched, on May 29, 2020.She left us peacefully in her 81st year at Saint Francis Hospital in Long Island.Louise was born in France and moved to America as a young girl with her mother, Alice. Louise and her mother were inseparable and had a beautiful and special bond. Louise married Joseph Prendergast and had three children, Alice, Joseph, and John. Louise lived in Flushing, Queens for many years where she loved to visit with her beloved sister in law Florence and her nieces, Jennifer and Rachel. In more recent years, Louise moved to Long Island. She lived a full and beautiful life as a devoted mother and grandmother.She was the beloved mother of Alice, Joseph, and John, proud grandmother of Lauren, Joseph, Brian, Christina, Michael, and Tanya. Louise is predeceased by her mother, Alice and her beloved granddaughter, Lauren whom we know called her home. She loved to spend time with family, was an animal lover, an avid reader, and a devoted Catholic. Most of all she loved her family. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.We would like to thank everyone for their prayers and well wishes during this difficult time. We are eternally grateful that our mother was able to spend time with her cousin Kathy, whom she adored, a few months before her passing. This meant the world to our mother as well as us.A private funeral will be held for immediate family, however a celebration of Louise's life will be held at a later date.
