We lost a very special lady, my mother-in-law, Eleanor Wilson Braue, at 101 years old. She was kind, selfless, smart, encouraging and loved her family dearly, her own six children and all of the grandchildren, great grandchildren and extended family.
A wonderful grandmother to my four children and someone I respected and held close as a friend, Eleanor was frequently kind and regularly lifted our spirits, with a nice gesture, encouraging conversation or a cup of tea.
She was the first and only girl in her family to go to college and amazingly to obtain a master’s degree, quite a feat back in her day. Eleanor always had a curiosity and love of learning, which blessed her with a zest for living. When you were with her you felt this wholesome, happy energy. She leaves us with so many warm memories and an enduring love that will fill our hearts for a very long time.

I remember Christmas Eve’s at Nana’s were always a fun and crazy night. We couldn’t stop first without bringing Chicken Delight and getting to Nana’s just in time for everyone to go out and buy the Christmas Tree. Then we would all decorate it and of course Nana playing Christmas tunes on the piano having us all join in and sing. A nice old fashion Christmas with a very special person. Oh and did I mention the wine haha. I will treasure those memories and always keep Nana in my heart,
