Obituary of Violet Reina

VIOLET L. REINA  (December 13, 1924 - April 20, 2019)

After 94 years of living a beautiful full life, Violet completed her earthly journey and made a peaceful transition on Holy Saturday, with family members beside her.

The third daughter of Cosimo and Marian Gerardi, she grew up in Brooklyn, NY. Later she moved to Queens Village, where she and husband Thomas raised three children, Maryann, Cecelia and Sanders. They retired to Mineola, NY. for 31 years; and then made the final move to Tinton Falls, NJ in 2007.

Violet loved God and country; art and music; healthful living; gardening; helping others, and most of all, family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend.

Violet was predeceased by her husband Thomas and daughter Maryann Salas. She is survived by her Daughter Cecelia Freda and husband, Michael Freda; her Son Sanders Reina and wife Martha Reina, and son-in-law, Alex Salas; eight grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.  She was loved by many and will be sorely missed. 

The viewing will be 3-8 PM on Thursday, Apr. 25th at Weigand Bros. Funeral Home in Williston Park, NY. The Mass will be at St. Aidan’s Roman Catholic Church in Williston Park at 11:15 AM on Friday, April 26th.
