My thoughts and prayers are with all of you in this sad time! I will always remember Uncle Georgie and how kind and caring he was to all of us especially my mom when my dad passed away. He was always so gentle and kind and it will truly never be forgotten. RIP Uncle George, you will be missed very very much! xoxox

I met George after I went to an Union meeting at Joseph Lisa Hall in Queens I was in my early 20"s back then , I was a mechanic at Queens Transit (at the time) 1979, later changed to Queens Surface, later changed again to College Point Depot ( MTA took over). George and I spoke numerous times about running for office. I did run and won the election for Chairman of Section 708A Maintenance Dept.. George took me under his wings and taught me how to act as a good Union officer and handle situations. That lesson has never left me even to this day. When he told me he was retiring it was like a mentor was not going to be on the other end of the phone to get you out of trouble or give you advise to get a Union member out of trouble.I've always had the deepest respect for George and always will...I remember going out to Vegas for a Union convention in the 80's with Danny Walchuck and Ducky(Bobby) Dowd we met at MacArthur airport and flew out to Chicago then to Vegas and basically had fun laughing and making jokes about all of us, mainly Ducky Dowd, it was all good fun. I will always remember all George did for me during my time as a Union Rep and after. We have lost a good man and God Bless!! Rest in Peace George!!

Our thoughts and love are wrapped around each and every one of our family. John's love for his brother is cherrish memories which bring him much comfort and joy. I smile when I think of George because his laugh and outstanding sense of humor was such a delight!!! He was a Unique gentle man who will be missed by us all. To Carol, the kids, and grandkids we pray for peace to replace the ache in your hearts. Until we meet again George, Rest In Peace!
