Obituary of John D. Buonasera, DDS

John Daniel Buonasera, DDS, known to all as "Doc or Dr. B," died unexpectedly on Wednesday, February 7, 2018. He was stricken while doing what he enjoyed most and did best, taking care of his patients. John was a generous, kind, good-natured neighbor, both in Manhattan and in Bridgehampton. When his friends had problems, questions, or just needed someone to talk to, John was inevitably the first person they thought of. He was proud of his education at Xavier, Manhattan College and NYU School of Dentistry, and his service as a US Army Captain during the Vietnam War. Dr. Buonasera's first wife, Sherry Jean, died 11 years ago. Their sons, Ash, his wife Nicoletta and their children Baylor, Bella and Luca, and Bradford and his wife, Manon, and their children Mia and Madison were the joy of his life. John is survived by his devoted wife, Susan of 6 years, his step-daughter, Jessica Goncalves, her husband, Nuno and his newest grandbabies, Tommy and Penelope. A Memorial Mass to honor his life is planned for 11:00 AM Saturday, Feburary 24 at The Church of St Francis Xavier 46 West 16th Street, N.Y. N.Y. 10011.
