Obituary of Elizabeth A. Hunerberg

Hunerberg, Elizabeth (Betty) of Ridge NY, on December 19th, 2016. She is survived by her Husband Edward, her three children, Edward Jr., Donald and Nancy, 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Betty was a war bride, marrying her childhood sweetheart Edward (Ed). Betty and Ed met at the Valencia Movie Theater in Queens when they were only 12 and 14. She gave birth to her first child, Edward Jr. in 1945 when her husband was deployed in Alaska defending the west coast in the Coast Guard. Before marriage, Betty had a full-time job at an agency in Manhattan. She was also a singer and performed in a chorus at Carnegie Hall, NYC and was scouted by the Metropolitan Opera for an Audition. Instead of choosing a career, Betty dedicated her life to raising her children and supporting her husband Edward's career at Supreme file systems in Brooklyn, NY. They celebrated their 73rd Anniversary on July 10, 2016. Visitation Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Weigand Bros Funeral Home 49 Hillside Ave., Williston Park, NY. Catholic Prayer service Friday 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Funeral Saturday 9:30 am. Interment Holy Rood Cemetery.
