Diem, Douglas A., 78 of Viera, Fl. Formerly of Albertson, N.Y. entered into eternal peace on December 5, 2015 surrounded by the love of his family. Beloved and true love of Nancy Holland. Devoted father of Kim (Richard) Maccarone, Douglas A. Diem Jr., Lisa (Heath) Robbins and MaryGrace Foti. Caring Step-Father to Michael (Diane) Hewitte, Jeff (Stacie) Hewitte and Brian (Debbie) Hewitte. Cherished Grandfather of Richie, James, Kaitlin, Spencer, Isabella, Brandon, Madison, Cody and Trinity. Loving Step-Grandfather of Michael, Jr., Sammy, Ashlynn, Jenna, Miranda and Chloe. Dear Brother of Ruth Burkhardt, Nancy Fahey, Judith Geyer and the late Barry E. Diem. Also survived by his dear friend, Irene Diem Pastor. USMC CWO-4(retired). 60 year active member Albertson Fire Company where he served as Chief (1971-1973), President (1994-1996) and Trustee (1974-1992) and was named Fireman of the Year in 1987. Visitation will take place at Weigand Brothers Funeral Home. 49 Hillside Ave., Williston Park, NY. Thursday December 10, 2015 7-9pm and on Friday December 11, 2015 2-4pm and 7-9pm. A Firematic Service will be held on Friday December 11, 2015. Funeral Service December 12, 2015 9:30am at Searing-Roslyn United Methodist Church in Albertson. Interment to follow at Greenfield Cemetery, Hempstead, NY.
