To the Saks family
It is with our deepest sympathy that we extended our condolences to you. There are no words that we can say to you to ease your grief, and we only hope that time will make the pain easier to bear.
I recall fondly the last time I saw Brian which was when he picked up Ryan to go to Matt Grillo's wedding in late September. I had not seen Brian for many years so when I saw him that day I was so happy. He looked wonderful and we knew how hard he was trying. He was as loving, funny and kind as I always remembered him to be.
Not having lived with someone who had the problem as Brian did I am sure it was not an easy road for any of you, especially Brian. I can only think in my heart that he tried the best he could to battle his disease. Above all he loved you all so much and knowing that I hope that his love continues to sustain you as will our prayers.
With our heartfelt sympathy
Gail and Bruce Logan

My family is at a loss for words to convey our condolences for Brian. We have wonderful memories of him from when Janine and he was in Middle School together, as well as the Junior Fire Dept. His infectious smile and sense of humor will long be remembered as well as his compassion for others. May all of your family know Brian was/is always going to be fondly remembered for all the good he's done, even as he struggled to heal. May he be at peace and may your whole family know our prayers are with you at this very sad time.

I cannot begin to fathom the depth of despair you must feel on the loss of Brian. I knew him through the Mineola Fire Dept. and share the same addiction he did. We spent time talking about it and I thought, as many did, that he was making progress. It is a progressive and devastating disease which Brian could no longer fight. Brian was not to blame, nor was anyone else. May God take him in his arms and give him the comfort he couldn't find here. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
