Obituary of John Vuolo

Please share a memory of John to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

John Vuolo passed away peacefully on November 3, 2023, in Queens, New York at age 69.

John was predeceased by his beloved wife, Joyce Vuolo and his mother and father, Pasquale and Carmela Vuolo. He was the cherished father of Matthew Vuolo, and Sean Thompson and his wife Kristen. John was a proud grandfather to Liam Thompson and Peter Thompson. He also is survived by his brother Anthony Vuolo and his wife Virginia and their children Joseph and Christine; his sister Maria Ciniglio and her husband Daniel; his sister Patricia Messina and her husband Steven and their children Nicholas and Kara; and his dear friend, Eileen Collins.

John graduated with a BS in electrical engineering from the City College of New York. At work, he was telecommunications engineer who spent many years working to improve the telephone network of the hospital systems in the Long Island and New York City area while working for NEC. He found great joy in collecting trains and repairing radios, and he donated part of his radio collection to a local historical radio association and museum. John also enjoyed hunting and has served as president of a hunting lodge in upstate New York for many years. Above all, his greatest enjoyment came from spending time with his family.

As we mourn John’s passing, we also celebrate his life, cherishing the memories and the love he shared with all of us. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.

John will be dearly missed. We take comfort knowing that he will be reunited with Joyce in heaven.
