Obituary of Marjorie Anita Quinn

Please share a memory of Marjorie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Marjorie (Marge/Aunt Margie) Anita Quinn, 92, of Houston, Texas passed away Sunday, June 11, 2023 in San Marcos, Texas. She was born March 21, 1931 in Laurelton, New York, to James and Marguerite (Slattery) Quinn.

Marge was a true New Yorker with an adventurous spirit. She served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War where she was a dental hygienist at Samson Air Force Base. During this time, she had the opportunity to travel to North Africa and Europe. Upon discharge from service, she worked in Manhattan and traveled whenever she could; her favorite, of course were her trips to Ireland. Marge was a gifted chronicler of family history, and a prolific artist creating award winning cakes and paintings. She shared her love of life with her family and many friends. She is loved by all and will be dearly missed.

Aunt Margie is survived by her nieces, Kathleen Welsh, Sharon Wilson, Eileen Sheikh and nephew, Michael Welsh, wife Jaquelin, as well as great-nieces, Lana Wilson, Kelly Wilson, Anna Sheikh and great-nephews, Nathan Beyer, Trey Voges, Khalid Sheikh, Shaan Sheikh and Zacchaeus Welsh. Her parents, her sister, Patricia Welsh and her nephew, James Welsh, precede her in death.

The family will receive friends on Friday, June 16, 2023, from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. at Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home in New Braunfels, Texas. A Rosary service will follow at 7:00 P.M with a reception afterwards.
