Obituary of Anthony Venezia

Anthony M. Venezia of Dover, Delaware went home to be with the Lord on September 7, 2015. He was 87 years old. Anthony was born on August 25, 1928, in Brooklyn, New York to the late Bertha and Edward Venezia. After graduating high school, he enlisted in the United States Army, beginning his career as a Clerk. Anthony was a decorated World War II Veteran, receiving the WWII Victory Medal, and Army of Occupation Medal, Japan. After an honorable discharge, he spent time traveling across the United States by train. He later returned to New York to pursue his education, graduating from Pace University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting, BBA in Law, and a Doctorate in Law. He was hired as an attorney with the Coca Cola Company, retiring after 40 years. Anthony had a great love for learning, and also devoted many years as a Professor of Business Law at Nassau Community College Anthony and his beloved wife Irma were blessed with 12 years together. In 2012, they relocated from Long Island to Dover, making Delaware their home. Together they enjoyed traveling, dining out, and dancing. He also enjoyed reading and collecting lithographs of historic aircraft. Above all he cherished time with family and friends. In addition to his loving wife, Irma, he is survived by three children, Anthony, Gary, and Denise; and four grandchildren, Veronica, Kayce, Jacqueline, and Gabrielle. A viewing will take place on Friday, September 11, 2015, from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. at Weigand Brothers Funeral Home, 49 Hillside Avenue, Williston Park, NY 11596. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am. on Saturday, September 12, 2015, at the Church of St. Aidan, 505 Willis Avenue, Williston Park, NY 11596.
